Help me out. There are two negatives on this deal with no replies. It's the lowest price ever on Amazon, and as far as I can see, anywhere else as well. It is even cheaper at this price than the three pack. So why the thumbs down? It seems that negging a pretty good deal is not in the interests of the SD community, so please take a moment to explain your thinking. Thanks.

Since I've also had deals that I was puzzled by the lack of response, I'll try to give the courtesy some other SDers have given me to help out, and I didn't TD it. I suspect it is because the Aerogarden seed pods can feel like the cost of non-refillable ink cartridges. There are ways around them (reusing, substitute, etc. - I researched it years ago but never went to the trouble - that are either way cheaper, or people have discovered it's about the same pricer to get Bonnie plants during the once every spring sales when they drop to this price hug

Thanks for your thoughts, your response is appreciated. As it happens, I am not a huge fan of Aerogardens, but happen to have one nonetheless. By way of background, I have gardened for longer than most posters on this site have been alive, and grow a wide variety of edibles and ornamentals. My wife discarded the old Aerogarden plugs, so new ones were needed if we were to get any use from the system. It seems to me that this site is best served by illuminating the lowest price on items for which there is user demand. To neg a post because one does not care for a product rather than for a lack of marketplace value seems to do other users a disservice by making deals they may wish to avail themselves of less than attractive. Of course, there are exceptions to this, for instance when a product is deemed harmful, easily substituted by an equivalent at better terms, or unethical in some way. In those instances, however, it seems there is an opportunity to benefit the community by posting an explanation, rather than an anonymous neg.
Again, thank you for the courtesy of your reply. I suspect we are of like mind on the subject and greatly appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. Repped.
Edit: Just for clarification, thanks for your informative post, which looks like it will be helpful to beginners (such as I am currently on this site). I was too lazy to post on both "Big Name" sites, and unfortunately chose the one that went down about a year ago to post my deals (where I enjoyed being an "ancient member"). So, I am familiar with the phenomenon you describe and was hoping to diminish it at least to some small degree in hopes of moving toward a more mutually beneficial platform. Thanks again.
