Should be noted that this is the original version and doesn't record audio.

FYI - for those interested in this price point for 2 outdoor rated cameras, however looking for a non-cloud solution:

This wired to power wifi 2-pack deal I just noticed and it looks like a worthy option.

for those of you who feel this isn't a good camera, what do you suggest. I need something that:
- can be managed remotely
- powered by battery and last more than 6 months
- saves video to a cloud any time motion sensing trips an alarm based on reasonable sensitivity...

I don't really care about audio. The cam I got a couple years ago was so sensitive that it was useful... anytime it rained it alarmed continuously even with the sensitivity set at its minimum.

Hi doodude,

Your requirements will be problematic to meet in any consumer grade product:

- can be managed remotely
- powered by battery and last more than 6 months
- saves video to a cloud any time motion sensing trips an alarm based on reasonable sensitivity...

I got the Arlo Pro 2 (with 2 cameras from Verizon in December for I think $240). I have a camera pointing at the front door and one at my back door. I've been more than happy with my setup. Easy install. The live view has like a 2 second delay. Also with motion detection enabled, the camera will start recording between 1 to 2 sec after motion is detected. Videos are in 1080p and are sharp. Night videos are excellent quality (amazing quality if you ask me). Also records audio (excellent recording!) FREE 7 day cloud storage is a big bonus!! You can pay for more if you'd like. App is simple to use. Alerts are instant with motion detection.

Bonus... Works with a Fire tablet enabled with Show Mode. Just say "Alexa, show me front door" and the tablet will display a live view. Only thing is you can't arm/disarm from the Show Mode or from Alexa skills.

I bought 2 sets from Verizon. I'm going to setup up my cameras in-house as well. I'm super happy with it! I can see who dropped off packages, see who's at the door when they knock. Just awesome. Not sure how long the charge lasts... but after almost a month, still a full charge. And you can buy solar panels if you choose. So far working flawlessly. It was 110F yesterday, so works well in the heat. Doesn't get below 30F to often here so not sure how it'll do in extreme cold.

big thumbs up for me!!

Shows $196 for me, but wouldn't buy anyway as they take disposable batteries.

I have a mix of Arlo Q and Arlo pro which I am very happy with.
