This is actually a $50 price drop from when this was last posted.

There are major airlines such as Air Canada, United and American offering a round trip airfare from Kansas City (MCI) to Beijing China (PEK) for $525-$553, making 1 or 2 stops (depending on the flight you choose).

Travel Availability:

Departs MCI: Aug 29 thru Oct 3 and then again Oct 15 thru Dec 11
Returns: good availability, generally with a 7-day stay

Seems like a good deal, but...
Title says Shanghai, whereas body of post and link are for Beijing.

Don't forget you also need a passport, uber/lyft to the airport, or perhaps parking fee, maybe gas money for a friend to take you to the airport. 2/10, bad deal

Taxis are pretty reasonable in Beijing, wouldn't let transportation be much of a consideration.

i was being sarcastic since this guy thinks paying $100 for a 10 year visa makes this not a good deal

thanks. Wasnt aware it was for 10 years. I guess its $140 for 10 years. Well for most people - you probably dont plan on visiting China multiple times. I have an Indian visa for about the same amount and time which I'll gladly pay for because I have family there to visit. I was accounting that 140$ bc I would probably only visit once.

Char bar burnt end Mac and cheese! As for the deal, with KC not being any sort of hub, deals like this are far and few.
