This is for ultra high level performance and competitive gaming. 95% or more esport gamers still use 1080p so they can achieve the highest frame rates. If you're playing wow I agree no need for 1080p but any FPS game i would disagree.

Seeing as they are starting to push the G-sync HDR monitors and Nvidia charges a whopping $500 for the new G-sync module you'll probably only see it on older G-sync products that are being liquidated in favor of new models.

Probably because he has a Nvidia card and to take advantage you need to have an AMD card. Same with G-sync you need an Nvidia card.

Also the refresh rate is stellar but after using an IPS panel TN panels just look to washed out and dull in comparison. And you can get 144Hz IPS monitors with low input lag and decent pixel response time these days.

1070 needs gsync, can't take advantage of freesync, you'd need amd. but you could take advantage of 240hz refresh rate if you don't care for screen tearing on games

Its not like it wouldnt be worth it, but part of the reason to buy these monitors is for the freesync or gsync. Freesync is AMD, G-sync is nvidia.

You would still have a 240hz monitor with this, and some other 240hz monitors(BenQ) actually do not have freesync or g-sync anyways so....

I want one of these but the problem I have right now is, doing some research, apparently the issue with the 240hz montiors right now is they have a problem with higher input lag, compared to 120/144hz monitors. So people tend to be sticking with 144hz seeing as how they are like $150-250, and 240hz g-sync monitors are $400-700. Pretty big price gap for minimal performance benefits. So the question is, do you spend $500 on a monitor to have higher input lag but 240hz. or less money for slightly slower refresh rate but lower input lag.

Crazy good deal especially on the open box one for $212. Don't have to deal with Dell promo GCs.

I just ordered this because the price for this monitor is a steal. Bad thing is that i will have nvidia GPU, but might switch to AMD GPU in the future if they can compete with Nvidia
