This is really tempting. I was holding out for a slick deal on a 16 port to replace my current 8 port switch. But running two of these would work as well.. Decisions, decisions.

Thanks OP!

This is a managed switch that pairs into Ubiquiti's Unifi software. If you don't know the difference between a managed and non-managed switch I will leave that up to google.

This particular switch is so called "managed" switch. Unlike cheap "unmanaged" switches, those allow for much more flexibility - you can set up VLANs (to segregate networks), perform stats collection (traffic per port, etc.), logging, power other devices over the network cable (this deal is for a single port passive PoE), etc.

For most homes regular "unmanaged" switch will be just fine. If you like tinkering with devices or just need more flexibility - Unifi is a great product.

It is a managed switch. It is not any better for if you are not in the Unifi management bandwagon.

There is not a better network switch for this price point. This is Enterprise quality. Makes a great desktop switch.

I own the POE version for a few years. Love ubiquiti products.

What's the best one now for a basic in between switch to replace the 4 unifi devices I have passing through the POE adapters and then through my regular switch? Looking to eliminate the 4 poe injectors from my wall box. Thanks.

Edit: thinking I want the US-8-60W-US but it's $130. Fark.

60w supports 4 ports. 150w supports 8. But yeah you will want the POE version.

The US-8-60W is $110 at Best Buy and Amazon

Thanks. Decisions decisions. Trying to decide if $110 is worth the neatness. It won't replace my router or 24 port switch so essentially will just be a 4x Poe injector replacement.

I know that's my dilemma too, and I only have one AC Pro lol. I'm running a Cisco SG300-10 on my Edgerouter Lite and I'd like to just get rid of one injector to have a cleaner setup.
