Fakespot Rating: A

I picked up a couple of these for our Macbook and X1 Carbon a few weeks ago, and of course now there's a coupon to make it even cheaper. Much more solid construction than I was expecting from the least expensive one on Amazon - this thing is seriously sturdy. I'll have no problem tossing this in my bag and knowing it'll be 100% when I get where I'm going.

Looks like a pretty good price with the coupon code if you are in the market.

FYI the comments say limited to 1080p 60hz. Better to spend double and get a 4k@60hz adapter instead

Eh, depends on your use. If you're using a large 4k monitor on your computer, you may be right. For my use (generally connecting to TVs/displays that are used several feet away), most humans aren't capable of seeing the extra resolution.

Eh I suppose. But both modern OSes support resolution scaling. And text definitely looks sharper even from 10 feet away on a 65" tv.

It's to convert it to HDMI. Works great. I had one but lost it so it's a great deal.

Do you perhaps have a macbook with an HDMI port, and you just have an HDMI cable? If you actually got a Belkin 10' Thunderbolt-HDMI cable for $5, that's a steal - you should post it. The cheapest I've seen a Belkin cable of that length was 3-4x that price.

My MacBook doesn't have HDMI. I used this cable to watch movies. It has 1080p support and picture looks awesome. I got it from Hollar.com

FYI , 1080P 60hz is the same needed for the TV I'm hooking this in to. So, I better not spend more. It's good to point out facts about items, and their limits, but telling someone what is better for them, not so much. IMO

display port is free for manufacturers to use... unlike hdmi... supports higher resolution and sound than hdmi... hdmi needs to die and make way for displayport... that's why Nvidias best gpu literally have 3 displayport outs and only one hdmi

For some reason, the link is taking me to a different product (3ft, 6ft, 10ft cable). I can't find the adapter pictured in this thread.

Does anyone have another link I could try?
