FYI, this is a micro-4/3 mount. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this 25mm is the equivalent of a 50mm on a full frame camera, and it's about the same level of zoom as the human eye, so 1x magnification.

Why is this getting voted up? Because it's an Amazon thread and the G7 went on sale today at Best Buy? If you take just a few seconds to check the Camels you'll see this has been pretty much the standard price for the past year.

I was able to pick this up for $99 when it was first release few years back. Very nice and sharp lens for the low price.

You are correct, that is the effective focal length.

Equivalent part correct but you meant 2x magnification? Didn't you?

I looked it up, the human eye has an equivalent (to full frame) focal length of 43mm. This lense has an equivalent focal length of 50mm, so it's 1.16x zoom.

I have this lens and love it. Easily one of my favorite lenses. Very sharp and fantastic bokeh. I can't recommend this lens enough. I shoot with a GH5.

Sorry but No. Still you are wrong. But then I'm glad you did your homework and through you link, it is well clear, where you went wrong. So I'm not going to get the pleasure of finding why, you made mistake and why 2x magnification is the right one, in the initial statement (Not 1x) so please look more and you will find the answer for yourself. Cheers.
