I had to look back at my orders, I swore I spent way less. Got it for $80 about 18 months ago.

There were previous deals that were a bit lower but this is the best price right now

This frequently goes for 90 and occasionally for 80. Prices are high site wide right now because of the $300cb sale. I'd say hold off.

I have this set. It is made by gearwrench, not HSS but at this price it won't be. The only thing the cman lacks over gearwrench is the ratcheting wrench, which is nice but not critical.

I just wish they'd have a good deal on the 107pc set with the larger sizes, think the cheapest I've seen it is 200. The gearwrench 114 with ratcheting wrenches can be gotten for 215.

Pick up some oatey threading oil at home depot to use with these sets and they should last fine.

On the lookout now... I'm really interested in the Irwin set that sells for $250 but I don't recall it going on sale.

I'm not familiar with the Irwin set, but if you're willing to spend that, look at the gearwrench 114 piece set with ratcheting wrenches. I think its $215 on amazon and Jet right now.

The equivalent craftsman set (107 piece, no ratcheting wrenches and missing a few other extras) the cheapest I've seen is $199. For the extra $15, I'd go with the ratcheting. Unless you have lots of SYW points to spend then the CMAN may make more sense, or wait and see if sears has a better sale on the gearwrench ($300 right now).

For the amount I use it, I couldn't justify $200, I got the 75pc set in this thread for $75 after coupons a few months back. Would be nice to have the larger sizes, but to be honest I don't think I'd ever use them (well, now that I've said it I'm sure I'll need one tomorrow). The way I figure if I need a bigger one someday, I'll just go buy that one. Unless the cman or GW set goes on a very good sale.

If you want ratcheting tap and die drivers, this is a good set:
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-5...917486000P

Like many Craftsman tools, it goes on sale for half price often enough.

Good set. I think it is made by the same people that make GearWrench.

And in case you don't have access on both sides, to use the double-handled driver there, it uses the same standard Max Axess drive, so you can use a regular Max Axess ratchet.
