Please beware!

Logitech quietly removed the 5th mouse button in the 2018 "new revision" of this mouse (the one by the thumb below the forward and back buttons). Very shady, esp from a big company like Logitech (why not change the model name after you make such a change -- profits $$$$ ?????).

I think they mean length of batteries and the optimization. Have this mouse (bought at Costco a year ago for same price) and it is fantastic. I believe one of the top work mouses. It isn't the most ergonomic so it can put some stress on your forarms if you aren't aware of good workplace ergonomics.

I ran into this problem and contacted Logitech about it with the same questions. They didn't outright say it but they didn't seem to care.

This is not the same M705 you may have had in the past. Not only did Logitech remove the 5th button they also cheaped out on construction. It was noticeably lower quality and much louder click wise.

IT department gave me one of this, it was terrible. Have been a huge Logitech fan for years, G302 at home, 2 G602 in the offices. They are all great ones.
This ones scroll is bad, I use AutoCAD which scroll is the button to drag your model.

I saw people are saying they improved it. Ok I don't vote it down for now.

do you mean the thumb click? (pushing down on the thumb rest pushes a button on mine)

This mouse isn't worth 19.99 now. It's not even worth 9.99. Gutting the thumb button and going with a shittier non-laser sensor means you're better off getting the m505 or m510.

I would not recommend this mouse personally.
  • Range is not particularly good
  • Has trouble working on many surfaces (wooden tables, etc.)
  • Feels heavy and unbalanced
On the plus sides though:
  • Amazing battery life. I've had mine since 2014 (I bought refurbished) and I've gone through maybe 1 battery change in that period.
  • Despite being heavy and unbalanced, it still feels like a quality mouse.
Base on that and that there's supposedly two models out there, pick at your own peril.
