You are paying for convenience of not having a device wired to your system.
We all know Bluetooth and how it works and most people like convince over quality.

FYI you can buy the bluetooth adapter on Harmon Kardon for $8 instead of getting the bluetooth version of this if you want to save a few bucks.

I've tried both of these. If you can stand the wires, I'd recommend that version. Both sound great, but the bluetooth version is always in pairing mode - so anyone within range can pair to the speakers and play audio through them - which depending on your circumstances, could be pretty annoying...

Never understood the increased cost for Bluetooth audio devices. So let's pay more for degraded audio quality. Makes sense.

These plugged into a stealth amazon echo dot. Heaven. Especially at used or refurbished price.

I got the previous version, I regret paying extra for the bluetooth using it wired all the time. The sound quality is good.
