Both on sale for $199 @ Microsoft store w/ free shipping or store pick up.

HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset with Motion Controllers [microsoft.com]

Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset with Motion Controllers [microsoft.com]

Not as good as the Lenovo deal for $149 but that sold out. The HP goes on sale at the $199 price range pretty often, but the Acer doesn't as much.

They aren't configurable, allegedly designed around 'average' of 64.

You can. It can open up a desktop and you can use it just like a computer screen on a wall.

That said, it's super hard to see the keyboard when you do this. I've found it's mainly good for launching stream vr.

Technically, yes. But this is for your computer, you need a high end gaming computer to run VR games. This also has hand tracking. The Oculus go is designed to be run by itself, no computer or phone needed. It uses a phone processor, so it runs phone VR apps decently but it's not the same as computer VR. Think of a motorcycle vs scooter.

The Lenovo was $150 new a few days before that. MR headsets have been consistently on sale for $199 for the last few months. Generally one at a time and then they rotate. So much so that I consider it the normal price now. It has to be under $199 to be a deal.
