That MSI from micro center posted earlier today crushes this "deal"
Has Intel Core i7 8700K Processor 3.70GHz; GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5; 16GB RAM; 512GB Solid State Drive at $1100. (Granted it's in store only and only after a rebate, but it's still profitable for them)

The prices are falling fast, dont buy this nonsense.

"Crushes" it with the main difference being a 512 GB SSD instead of a 1 TB HDD, and you have to deal with a mail in rebate and ugly case? I question your choice of words, and deals.

Had this since the BF deal on it, for about this price. Toss in an inexpensive SSD and you're ready to go.

Keep in mind these might be a lot cheaper in store. For example, this Alienware laptop:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/alie...of=openbox

is listed as a little over a grand but many people ended up getting them in the $700 to $900 range. And if you go to the store it might even ring up lower than advertised there too. For example, mine had a sticker of $906 but rang up at $842. They still have a couple at the Portsmouth, NH location too, if anyone is near there. Keep in mind, NH means no tax so extra win!

Anyway, TLDR it's definitely worth taking a drive to the store to check this one in person. I had to drive 3 hours to get mine but the girl on the phone was nice enough to set one aside for me so it wouldn't sell out before I arrived.

In-Store only.

Micro Center has 25 store locations spread over 16 states.

That's a limited number of people that can get that deal.

The point isn't that the micro center deal is all that great, it's that you get another name brand machine with a 500gb nvme SSD and an improved processor for a lower price.

I wasn't suggesting to get that one, I was trying to remind people that in the past month prices for these cards has dropped a lot, and actual slick deals are right around the corner. Especially with the surplus of 10 series cards and the release of the 11 series at the end of next month.
