Some Uber drivers in the U.S. are being accused of faking cases of passengers being sick in cars to charge them additional fees of up to $150 in a scheme known as "vomit fraud."

Several customers have complained of being hit with hefty cleanup charges for leaving a mess in vehicles, often having to go through lengthy email exchanges in order to be reimbursed. Uber is "actively looking" into the reports, according to The Miami Herald newspaper

something tells me that'll *hold no water* in any correspondence w/ a company like Uber. fortunately, there are chargebacks.

Happened to me, ended up getting a refund after fighting back and forth. They debit your account without notice! Then the driver provides them a fake picture of a spill or damage. Mine said I spilled drinks on her seat which was a blatant lie as I only had my luggage on my way to the airport.

Off topic but one time I was waiting for the driver at curb and the initial driver is a no show so I waited another 20 minutes before I can get a ride. After I got off I realized I got charged for the wait time. Fuking scam

Would this show up in your past rides? Or in an email from Uber? It should.

This happened to my wife and her friend when she was leaving her school campus with nothing but their book bags. The "evidence" they submitted looked like they sprayed shaving cream on the floor mat. Uber sided with the driver so I disputed it with my credit card, got my money back and closed the account.

Seconding. If they actually cared about their customers...
