Awesome but I don't see it for Texas. Is it state specific

Lol I would wreck this plan, as an EV owner. I can easily suck down a megawatt hour per month just with my car

If you look at the "Steady Lock 12" banner, look to the left or right, and click on the arrow, there is a promotion for Texas only. 25% off service charge. I don't know how they calculate service charge. Do you know any good plan under 10 cents?

It's a restaurant.com GC, which means it's worth much less than $50. More like a coupon than anything.

I don't think that was the point of this deal.

Switching power companies and then switching back is always a PITA though.

Its not switching companies,,
Below is the FAQ found on terms @ conditions;
Your local utility will remain the same and will continue to deliver the energy to your home or business just like they did when you bought the supply from them. The utility will also continue to bill you. XOOM Energy will appear as a line item in the supply section of your bill.

Rate applies only to commodity portion of the bill. Rate excludes state and local sales taxes and XOOM's monthly base charges and any charges that pass through your TDSP. The "Energy Service Charge" is the commodity price charged per kWh of energy used. The 25% credit applies only to the Energy Service Charge. So I think it becomes 6 cents from 8. Not bad.

In EFL document its clear. A feature of this plan, 25% of your monthly energy service charges will be deducted from your monthly bill. Your monthly bill will be calculated by the following formula: Monthly Bill = Base Charge + (Energy Service Charge * Monthly Usage) – (25% of Energy Service Charge * Monthly Usage) + TDSP Charges + Taxes and Fees.

Looks like they have plans in Texas, but I didn't see flat $50 per month plan. Their fixed price plan is perry expensive at $0.11 per KWH at 2,000 KWHper month.

Not sure this is a great deal. I just happened to switch providers today because my rate was due to switch to a variable one in a month. .0736 cents per kWh was best I could find that was fixed and had no cancellation fee.

My annual usage is at 9366 kWh. If I pay $70 a month for that (which is what the PA rate would be) my rate per kWh would be .0896 cents.

There is also a $110 cancellation fee so you put yourself at risk of getting an extra month added at perhaps a different rate because cancelling at the exact right moment is tough with these deals.

If anyone is interested in this, do the math to make sure your hourly rate is actually better. For instance, if I did pay $50 a month, the hourly rate would be $.064 cents per kWh which is very good. So it depends on the situation.

a $50 restaurant.com gc is worth less than $2, that is how much they commonly sell for, they are that useless
