Found this deal for some RAM. I had a 20% off (Max $30) coupon in my Google Express account that I was able to apply to this (takes off $30 perfectly). There is also a Max $20 one that you might have.

Alternatively a single stick of 16GB is $145 before coupon:

Good deal considering the RAM price these days. 2666Mhz and 3000Mhz doesn't really make noticeable difference. Go for the 16gb stick if you consider future upgrades

If you have another Google account check it with the item at checkout, it usually tells you if there a promo codes that will work. I don't think it was GADGET20, I just saw the "Promo code available" when I went to checkout.

Yeah, I saw that but only a $10 coupon (for them messing up). I got an email earlier today about the 20% off, but it still didn't work.

Oh well, saved me some money on something I didn't exactly need, lol.

Will this price justify upgrading from 12GB 1x8GB+1x4GB 2400 MHz considering I can easily sell my old ram fro $80.

According to Patriot's website base timing is 15-15-15 and tested timing is 16-17-17

I would check if you're even utilizing all 12 GB. download HW Monitor or something to check that.

Yup I'm using 12Gb dual channel, same type, brand and timing, only difference is the 4GB and 8GB.

yeah, so at 2666 it's 16-17-17-36.

at 2133 it's 15-15-15-36

would really prefer 15-15-15-35 for 2666, or better yet 14-14-14-34 2933.

at current timings it's not much faster than good ddr3. again, not bad but not good performance. if you can get $120 it's a good deal.

Received Patriot Viper 4 from Fry's recently. Package was not sealed and found lots of scratches on the plastic heat spreaders.
