That first model isn't a true chronograph; it's a regular quartz movement with day, date and 24 hour complications. Having said that, these are surprisingly good watches. The last William L deal here at SD I kind of poo-pooed, especially since I'm partial to mechanical watches and already owned a Timex Weekender quartz chronograph.

But I caved and bought one of the William L mecha-quartz chronos (this one: https://www.jomashop.com/william-...corcm.html). It's a really nice watch for the money. Certainly much higher quality than the Timex. And those toolless, quick release watch straps are pretty slick. I had to watch a few YT videos to learn how to use the tachymeter and telemeter scales, but they are functional. I don't often go rally racing or need to estimate the distance artillery shells are being fired from, but those vintage scales on the dial do add a certain classic flair. nod

The website seems to list the code as "BDWL80" vs "SDWL80", perhaps a misprint OP? Haven't tried either by the way, just checking it out.

Large protruding pushers and crown with no guards. I foresee them getting ripped of in a lot of cases. But, nice dials. Will keep an eye on these. Maybe review one at my bench.

Which is even better as you never need batteries till the watch lasts!
