i really wish there is an American or Japanese company making some camera gimbal instead of Chinese. so the build quality and the customer service will be as good as iPhone or Sony

I bought at $399. It's doing a great job on my D850, though pitching could hit the back of the camera with a heavy lens since it's so far back.
Yes, you can use it one handed or with the included 2 handle bar, unlike the Crane where it's an extra expense.
The latest DJI has a better design that doesn't block the back of the camera, but it's a lot more money. A field monitor easily resolves that issue.

apple and sony products are all made in china. not sure if you knew.

any who, my zhiyun crane gimbal has been working flawlessly. it was a bargain at $700 when i bought it. so this gimbal for $400 is a steal!

one thing I like about this, it has the Data cable. so you can control record and stop right on the handle. don't need to touch the camera at all. also this seems to have pretty good time-lapse setup.

It's awesome, but it depends on the camera, it isn't a feature that works with all brands.

I think he meant "designed in US or Japan" which is completely different than designed in China. LMAO

Newb to gimbal world.
I am into portraits, family and travel photography.
What is the advantage of this over handheld or tripod?

You only want this for video. It keeps the camera steady and balanced when recording and moving. If your main focus is photography, you don't need a gimble at all because a tripod keeps the camera steady and balanced for a photograph in one place
