I believe this is cheaper than it may have ever been? Correct me if I'm wrong! Either way, awesome deal for one of the best monitors around.

Is it just me or have these G-Sync monitors not come down nearly as fast as I thought/hoped they would. Good deal OP. 48 hours to make up my mind here.

Isn't Nvidia still charging $200 for just their G-SYNC module?

I haven't checked in a while but this wouldn't surprise me one bit. I guess with some competition we would have the $350 G-Sync versus FreeSync monitor battles.

Acer's model numbers are just about impossible to decipher.
The $550 monitor in OP is the XB271HU bmiprz, which is IPS. The link in your post is the XB271HU abmipr, which is TN.

To some, the extra $50 is well worth it for an IPS display.

I hear you. When searching for deals on this monitor I've made the same mistake.

I actually made the same mistake when I initially bought this monitor. I returned and got the IPS and it's well worth the $50 difference.

Last Cyber Monday or Black Friday, it was $499 for the IPS monitor, tax free outside of NY, from PC Richards. It was a mistake by PC Richards, but they honored the deals for everyone. I got this IPS then and have been looking for lower prices than that ever since to have a multimonitor display. Alas, still not here yet...

I bought this exact monitor when this exact deal appeared a month (or two?) ago on Newegg. Absolutely zero complaints whatsoever. As with most IPS panels, similar to AMOLED screens, there may be some unevenness with the backlighting (aka light bleed), but I don't have any. This monitor is everything I wanted -- 1440p IPS G-SYNC 144 Hz (with 165 Hz advertised on the box as overclockable). I would highly recommend it.

As others said, the Newegg version is IPS. The Amazon one is TN, which isn't worth the $50 price difference at all.

I think you're saying this, but just to be clear on your wording: paying $50 more for IPS is TOTALLY worth it!

Correct - I'm saying that going with the TN version is not worth saving $50. Pay the extra $50 and get the IPS version. It's worth it!
