The deal gets worse and worse every time it pops up.

Just got it. Yes it's not as good as 15% or 20% off but it's still 5$ off Smilie i know I'm going to buy so many switch games so charging my Nintendo account with those cards saves me money anyways

There are deals on ebay for eshop cred pretty often. 42.50 for 50. 15% off. So if you need it now not bad.

Next game I'll pick up is Mario Party... I think I'll hold out hope for a $40 for $50 between now and October.

Am I the only one that doesn't trust Nintendo with digital content? Lost out on Wii points because they arbitrarily changed the currency and I don't like how each download is tied to that particular system. It's very backwards. I love Nintendo but I'll only buy indie games digitally that aren't available in a physical format.

Not really worth it for 10%. I'll bite when 15%+ comes back.

Yeah I am in the same boat. If it worked like other consoles I wouldn't have an issue but digital content is rarely ever on sale compared to the physical copies. Frankly I don't buy enough games to feel overburdened by carrying extra cartridges around. Seeing as how consoles die and online content are taken down shortly after, it's not comforting. I feel like I am leasing the game rather than owning it.

Is there an actual example of this happening? The Wii shop channel is still going (with an expected shut down sometime in 2019), which I don't think constitutes "shortly after". Every console that has had an online marketplace is still going. There's no actual example of a console dying and the games suddenly being inaccessible. Individual games that relied on servers to play will do this occasionally, though you still have access to the game, albeit a useless copy. Sometimes there are games that you can no longer buy, but if you owned them already, you still have access to them. But you've literally just made this complaint up on the spot, as it's never happened...
