The questions it asked me for the treasure hunt were:

What color are the organic produce signs? Green
How many loads will Tide HE wash? 146
How much is the rotisserie chicken? $4.99
What is the pharmacist's name? I just made up something for this one

Did you even click on the link before you started making assumptions? It worked fine for me.

how do you know it's on the card? basically the only way to order food at my local snack bar is to use the self-service machine so i'm not sure how this is going to work since i don't recalling even having to use your card.

It's an instant coupon loaded to your card. I saw it loaded as an instant coupon in the app. They swiped my card at the snack bar and gave me my food. Don't know what you mean by a kiosk at the snack bar. Never seen one at any Sam's Club I've ever been to.

The deal has changed a little since 2017, because some of the coupons are different. The old deal asked you to visit the bakery section for coupons on bakery goods. The new one asks you to visit the laundry section. The bakery section isn't even included anymore. It wasn't for me at least.

at my sams, you don't talk to anybody at the food court. you walk up to a terminal and you punch in your order off the computer screen. then you slide your credit card or gift card or you insert your cash into the payment slots. you get a ticket and your number is displayed on the big board. grab your cup while you wait. when your number is called, you go up to the counter (formerly where a cashier used to take your order/payment) and you simply pickup your food. the people there only make food and serve food. i suppose if there is a problem they can use the [dormant] register to fix it. also i guess if you tell them you have something free on your card, they can just take your word for it and hand you the food. i'll give it a shot, maybe they might ask for my card. otherwise, at my sams (and i think all sams) you don't have to normally present a membership card to eat there.

just for reference, see the first article in this comment; i know it's about costco but i couldn't find a sam's related article: Sams Club has been doing this for several months. There are three terminals which makes it pretty qu... [thekitchn.com]

Even if you can't get the free slice, you can still get the rotisserie chicken and coupons.

Promotion promised a free rotisserie chicken, but provided a $2 off coupon instead.
