Note that this seller is selling PAL/Euro version of the game. So if you want to collect US version of the game. Try to find other source. But basically they are same game and switch is region free. (Source: Bought it from them and returned)

I wondered about that when I saw one of the pics had the European rating system logo on it.

Did you have to pay a shipping or restocking fee? I don't know if I want to return my Mario kart.

What's the difference? Genuinely curious, if the gameplay is same then it shouldn't matter right

I actually bought Mario Odyssey from this seller last week when eBay had that $25 off $119 coupon during Prime Day. The game I received was the UAE/Saudi Arabia/Malaysia/Singapore version. When I realized that, I was disappointed at first and did some sleuthing online to see if I got a fake.

I found that those regions use the NTSC TV signal like the US. The game cartridge itself is exactly the same as the US version (it actually has "USA" printed in small text in the label like the US games do), but the packaging has a small logo with the 4 aforementioned countries on the back. Basically it's just a slight difference in the packaging but the game is the same. In fact, the UPC is exactly the same as the US version because it's virtually the same product.

Edit:
Here's the bottom half of the rear packaging. The differences are the green triangle on the bottom left, the logo for those countries, and the "-MSE" country code instead of "-USA".

Whats pretty much happening is you are getting a gray market item. Sellers can usually sell them cheaper based on currency conversions and generally getting the product cheaper in foreign markets and selling them in the US market for more profit. Although there may be nothing wrong with it, just something to note.

I think if you ever want to trade it in to a store like B.B. or GS it would matter, but otherwise it shouldn't.
