Horrible WiFi, latency and up time. Enough said.

Great concept and product, poor execution.

You're making a $250 item and you skimp on dual band WiFi? $30 gadgets have dual band WiFi now

Urine?

This would be going second story on the outside of my house, but probably less than 20 feet from my router. I'm assuming wifi would probably be okay.

Lol spelling mistake corrected. Uptime.

WiFi being 20 ft away should not be a problem with regular exterior walls, brick and mortar etc. But the other 2 issues will still be a bitch.

Uptime and latency. Sometimes even the motion sensor doesn't work timely, or perhaps it does, but the notification and network communication breakdowns basically kill the thrill.

In a nutshell, it's far from polished and if you have a casual security need, you'll be fine. Not for mission critical stuff obviously.

I got the ring chime pro to act as a repeater for my floodlight cam. It's been working well for me so far. Got the Chime Pro for $35 on ebay.

This was ~$154 on Amazon Prime day the other week. It's not too bad. I purchased the white wired version. Good 1080p video. The Camera has some distance too. Overall, I'm happy. ~$154 in pushing it IMO though.

In for one thanks OP. I have 2 of these. Theres a little bit of lag on the alert so that by the time it opens the person might have moved but 2 way audio is near real time and it records the whole event fine. I find them to be very reliable. Must have a good wifi signal. I use orbi w satellites. Siren nice feature!. Might get a better deal at costco if they go on sale as they include chime pro

This deal was posted awhile ago but still active for the same price but without the tax for most people. I just got mine today in the mail from this company (smarthome) for $199 total.

Overall happy with our ring floodlight. A little buggy when it first came out, but kinks are worked out now. Subscription is only $30/year. Should only get better now that Amazon has bought them. 👍

They don't recommend putting on a second story due to motion detection. I think they recommended 9 ft high.

I think Costco deal for $250 which includes a year worth of cloud service is better. Which if you recently bought the ring alarm that includes monitoring services for a year!
