It seems that there is another sale on GP for a dollar (THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES is a collection of twelve short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle) by the same publisher. This one runs for 13 hours

https://play.google.com/store/aud...AADF-DH45M

I don't want to complain about the price (after all it is just a buck for a whole 63+ hour audiobook! And probably the best investment of Google Survey credits). GP audiobooks are great especially taking into account that they are DMR free and I can download them and listen using any media player without additional encoding, which I cannot say about audible purchases that requires using their own app (by the way Amazon was the promoter of DMR free mp3s when it was competing with iTunes/Apple, but when it was facing literally no competition in audiobook market it was delivering the DMRed content). Also Google purchases are easily playable using Google Home products. But most of the times quality is more important than quantity and from the comments on Google it seems that reader didn't have emotions and read monotonically.

If you want to try another voice/reader, I'd highly suggest visiting LibriVox first, where you can legally download/stream many classical audiobooks for absolutely free of charge. Quality of the audiobooks differ as they are read by ordinary volunteers (but most of the times they are really good). And quick search shows that you should be able to listen to Sherlock Holmes in 4 different versions (both in UK and American accents if it matters). Here is the link if you want to try:

It's definitely worth spending an audible credit on this version instead: https://www.audible.com/pd/Myster...B06WLMWF2S

Stephen Fry is a great reader.

$0.82 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/The-Return...07F7SLQMK/
That appears to be a different Holmes audiobook from the same company. Beyond different titles, the OP's Google Play link says it clocks in at 63hrs. Your Amazon link is 11hrs, 46min.

Hmm. It's even the same narrator but you're correct. I'll edit my post. That publisher has had many audible books on sale the past week or so.

These appear to be different as one is 63 hours and the other is 11 hours...

Hi ballonshark. Sorry, it wasn't my intention to confuse. This is a different deal from the one posted last week. It's a different narrator, and you get the whole collection for $0.99 rather than paying $0.82 per book at Amazon. If you prefer, you can return the books to Amazon and buy this one instead. I couldn't find the same price/product on Amazon .

No need to be sorry. I wrongly thought they were the same book. Yours is clearly the better deal. It's just nice to see good deals on audiobooks for a change.

Cheers

Listening to the audio sample, it sounds like the narrator is recording from a hospital bed in the geriatric ward.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do agree that it isn't top quality, I can see why this whole set is only $0.99
