No, its not a gaming PC nor is it a speed demon. Read one of the reviews, one user was able to "reinstall" Windows and then activate both processors to get it running faster.

Just a basic no frills laptop...

To give you great sound across music, movies, voice and games.

Weighs 5.07 lbs. and measures 0.9" thin
Balances portability and screen size, so you get a respectable amount of viewing space without the laptop being too cumbersome for practical portability. 4-cell lithium-ion battery.

HDMI output expands your viewing options

OP referred to the following review on BestBuy.com, written by luella:
  • You have to do a fresh Windows re-install or else it will run unbearably slow. Just type "Windows Defender" in the search box and click on Windows Defender Security Center. Go to "Device Performance and Health" and click "Additional Info" under Fresh Start. It will uninstall all the unwanted apps and programs and give you a fresh copy of Windows 10. IT takes about an hour though but its worth it and makes a huge difference. And then also I uninstalled all the programs I didn't need.
What's written above is an EXCELLENT idea to get rid of the unnecessary bloatware that comes with the laptop. Uninstall what you don't want or need, and then install good web browsers like Firefox and Chrome; and decent free antivirus like Avast/AVG/Avira/BitDefender/Panda.

I removed the other half of the review that suggests manually setting Windows processor cores at boot. This is a BAD idea that will not help speed in the least, could prevent cores from being parked when not in use (using excess heat/battery) and -- if a typo is made -- can prevent the laptop from booting. Windows 10 automatically and by default uses the maximum available cores.

Yes but there was another reviewer that mentioned you need to remove the keyboard etc. unlike the old days there was a place at the bottom of the laptop you just unscrew insert and then done.

I ordered one for my kids but won't get here till next week

Yes, according to reviews and Dell it supports up to 16GB [dell.com].

Apparently the memory has no access panel. According to the Dell service guide, you have to remove the battery, remove the optical drive, remove the keyboard, and remove the base cover. [dell.com]

How this got passed engineering is beyond me...they couldn't make it simple and have an access panel at the bottom....and besides, if they needed space, just get rid of the dvd drive...who uses them anyway..

Processor wise, its between AMD vs Intel. Also Asus has USB C and VGA port.

However, there is not one within 250 miles of my home so it may be YMMV type of deal.

If storage is not an issue, this one by asus has 64 SSD drive and 4gb memory minus the DVD drive so its lighter. its also 14 rather than 15 inch display. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6163333

the nearest microcenter for me is about 3 hours away, not sure i want to drive that long just to save $30 bucks, with gas these days...yeah with Frys going down hill and all, wish had a MC closer..

so it will be a cold day in hell if Best Buy would even price match since they know there is no microcenter even close by..

Good price for a working laptop like this. What would be the price for webroot internet security after 6 month free offer ends?

Well, not all of the bloatware. Windows 10 is still installed.

It's strange, the only way I can see any of your posts is to hit reply.
