Took a quick look for anyone that might be interested. It's a capacitor model and seems to use the secondary camera as a backup cam. I didn't read if it was a dedicated rear camera paired with the front facing camera.

Looking for one that's a direct replacement, not a junky clip-on.

Not much of a hassel and free if you do it yourself. The rear view mirror clips on over your existing mirror and is held on with rubber brackets. That should take you about 2 minutes to install. The wires can be hidden through the roof liner and A pillar as well as the rear cameras wires. You can search YouTube for dash cam installs and it will show you how to route the wires.

Thanks but routing wires through roof and A pillar sounds not fun or beyond my handiness

Will ask around for install prices .... i guess

I understand. Best buy should be able to install it for around $100 and I believe their installs come with a 1yr warranty.

Routing the wires doesn't seem too bad

It's not. I've installed several dash cams and have hidden the wires through the headliner and A pillar as well as the B pillar for the rear dash cameras. I've gotten it down to about 30 minutes per install.

Running wires is generally much easier than people think....you can hide them in all sorts of pillars and gaps.

If this clamps on to your existing mirror, be ready to hear occasional rattles if your car doesn't absorb bumps as well. It drives me mad. I tried all kinds of spacers (folded paper, rubber bands, foam packing inserts) but I still hear occasional shakes and rattles from it.

These can be found on eBay starting from $20 to the very nice full mirror replacements for around $50.
Amazon sellers are selling exactly the same item for alot more, go to eBay and check some out, its the exact same item.

I've purchased about 20 of these for different cars I sell and I attach it to my old mirror with double sided tape so it doesn't rattle.

Specifications say Lithium ion battery is included. Are you sure that it has a capacitor instead of a battery?
