Was wondering the difference between the two

first one is BT capable
2nd one comes with a 2.4ghz receiver dongle

I have 2 of the rii i8x and prefer its layout more

BT will pair up well with streaming devices and media players that use BT remote, ie firebox. also BT remote will work with lap tops that are BT enabled.

I'm literally about to buy the Logitech K830 and I see this. What devices do you use this with if you don't mind me asking? I like the layout much better than the one in the OP as well

I use it with my smart tv and fire box for now. It works flawlessly.

I am assuming that lots of you are using this with an HTPC or other device connected to your tv...how do you turn the TV on and off? do you still use more than one remote?

After trying a bunch of them this has been the best that allows me to use one remote for everything (TV, Receiver, HTPC, and Lighting):

Has anyone found a better solution?

I have the version of this with the touchpad centered and use it on my HTPC and love it.

I have a generic one, similar to the https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079L2C...4648083ec9 And when I first started using it, with NVidia Shield, It would turn everything(TV/receiver) on, via cec(hdmi), just by touching a button. Then, when I put the shield to sleep, it would turn everything off. Somehow it has now lost the ability to do that. I think I need to unplug, & replug everything, to get that function back. And it did this even plugged into a 4 port usb hub, along with a Logitech k400 keyboard.
The keyboard I have, has page up/down buttons on the right side, which is handy on many apps. It uses a mini dongle.

yes i have tried a similar setup with cec, but still no way to control the volume on a receiver without using more than one remote.

Its hard to get away from using a setup that doesn't use ir...and then finding a good remote that has keyboard/mouse/learning ir.

The remote i linked has been working well for a few years, but it has two major cons: battery life sucks and it uses mini-USB to charge. lol
