Using the Apple 29W/61W/87W charger and Apple 1m Lighting to USB-C cable, the 8 Plus (and X) can successfully negotiate 1.2A @ 15V for an ~18W power delivery. This is in contrast to a standard iPhone 8, which can do 2.4A @ 5V for 12W power delivery. The iPhone 8 with USB-C charger/cable charging is just marginally faster than an iPad 10W or 12W charger + standard USB-A to Lightning cable.

NOTE: these "Fast charge" rates are only obtainable when the battery is <50%. Above that rate, the draw will slow down significantly, reduced to 5-6W when passing 80%.

Only if you have 8/8 Plus/X. Otherwise might as well use any 10w charger.

Please note you need the USB-C to Lightning Cable to use this. Which also costs $20USD for the 1m and $29USD for the 2m ..... still a good price for the USB-C block though.

Thanks OP found 4 good on chargers for a decade

These are great for iPhone 7+ and up and esp the iPad Pro don't listen to that fool that said these only work on iPhone 8 & X that's extremely misinformed

I have had this charger combo since I bought the Gen 1 12.9 iPad Pro.
I noticed my iPhone 7 Plus charges faster with it then a normal charger.
I never ran any tests but it was obvious to me.

Regardless, this will be the standard going forward, I would pick them up whenever you see them cheap.

Definitely true. iPhone 8, 8+, X can use max of 18w - I personally use a Google Pixel charger and it pulls 18w.

For my iPad Pro 10.5, you can use a >29w charger and it will receive 29w max, so this deal is perfect for it.
