Have a plan to use these fast (24 hrs max). MC's are very prone to hacking and having the balance drained.

I'd buy dozens if they'd let me. The proper credit card here is the key.

That's why you stack with amex offers or with chase 5% cards

I must be missing information, because even with 1000 in gift cards, that's only 25 bucks saved, which seems minor. Are you guys buying these with a CB credit card to make rewards

Exactly. Chase Ink cards for example give 5% back in Ultimate Rewards point s(equal to at least 5% cashback) at office supply stores.

Why can't it be visa. Much safer and easier to liquidate. Changing the payment method is hit or miss at WM lately.

I know this used to be the case, but i haven't seen any recent reports...is it still the case?
On a slightly related note, a CVS GC from discover cash back got drained EEK!
Seems like someone out there has holes in their system

used to be in this game with INK card or other credit card sign-up bonus...

however, heard too much data point recently that AMEX now generate report to monitor this kind of manufacturing spending, clawback points or might close accounts. Don't know if chase begin to do so yet.

Right now, think about much while buying GC (either using INK or other CC) from staples, even Chase freedom 5% grocery store last time......

better be safer when holding too much MR or UR points
