This is my go to card. I still use my sapphire for travel and restaurant but 75% bump in cashback (varies by how much money you have with BofA) on all categories make it the best cash back card with no fee.

If you have the same credit card you did 10 years ago, you've missed out on a MASSIVE amount of opportunities.
How so?

Can anyone give me some info on how this 200 dollar bonus works? That it be used against the amount due? Or do I have to go to select merchants and purchase items from there.

Can I spend the $500, pay off the balance, collect the $200 and close this account and never use it again?

Is this card any good for somebody that does bank at BOA that typically keeps 5k to 10K in their checking account during most times? Or should I just get a citi double cash?

What's the credit limit, can we transfer money to checking account?
Credit limit is dependent on each person. I started at around 5k and they keep upping it since I have good credit history. I think I'm up to $35k now even though I don't get anywhere near that.

Not sure what you're talking about transferring. The bonus rewards get deposited into your checking account. You can also move money to/from your Merrill Edge accounts and BofA checking accounts. That's how I fund my ROTH IRA each year; it's instant.

B of Am seems to be clamping down on getting the same bonus twice, if you read other credit card sites out there. They may give you the card, but then never give you the bonus, even if you meet the terms for the bonus. They're very NON-transparent about this. It might be more likely to work if you got the bonus on a different card (visa vs mc).

Nope, this card gets you 5 and a 1/4.

I also like the BofA travel rewards card a lot; that's 2 and 5/8s on everything with honors platinum. They are running a $250 in points promo.
For gas........

Sure- though there's no good reason to close it (and it'd potentially hurt your score to do so)

Apart from the signup bonus this isn't an especially useful card for you.

If you're a non-traveller (meaning you want cash back cards- which are lower reward than travel cards) you'll want:

2-3 category cards that cover where most of your spend goes and can get you 5-10% cash back on that spend

1 non-category card to cover the rest- the best of which is either the Citi doublecash if you spend less than 12k a year, or the Alliant card if you spend more than 12k.

BOA never approves my applications. I have tried 4-5 times over the years and they always come back with some BS excuse. My credit score is 820 and blemish free. Oh well.
