I hear people complain about getting their credit card number stolen from certain sites, Rakuten for example, or unwilling to buy from questionable sites, then this is one of the two cards to get if you want one time use numbers. The other one is a Citi card I think but don't remember which one.
If you're not bothered to get this card for that reason, you have no reason to be complaining about missing deals. You can also laugh at these idiots that only know how to complain but don't know how to look for solutions.
Are there restrictions on redeeming cashback? For example, can you only redeem them in $25 increments like the silly Wells Fargo card?
Its easy, you can transfer it to your BofA account. They add 10% to it for depositing in your BofA account. If you are rewards gold member, they will add 25%. For two cards I got 500 straight to my BofA account.
Can someone please ELI5? Basically my understanding is I spend $500 on the card within 90 days of opening and automatically get $200 back? So can I think of it as like I'm buying a $500 gift card for $300?

Man I feel bad for younger people, or really anyone needing a new credit card. These APR's are just insane. Thank god I got locked into my APR before 2008.
APR? Only idiots look at that. I pay my card in full every month and don't buy things I can't afford. The whole idea of credit cards is to scam the uneducated who pay interest. I can't complain though, they fund the $10K+ in tax free bonuses I got over the last 4 years

Not so easy if you don't have their checking anymore. A lot of people here had their grandfathered free checking, but that went away about a year ago.
Without that, you have to spend it out of your account. So, really, this deal is a $700 spend for many, with $200 of it being free.
Sure- though there's no good reason to close it (and it'd potentially hurt your score to do so)
Apart from the signup bonus this isn't an especially useful card for you.
If you're a non-traveller (meaning you want cash back cards- which are lower reward than travel cards) you'll want:
2-3 category cards that cover where most of your spend goes and can get you 5-10% cash back on that spend
1 non-category card to cover the rest- the best of which is either the Citi doublecash if you spend less than 12k a year, or the Alliant card if you spend more than 12k.
"Unfortunately, we're unable to approve your application at this time." in spite of good credit score and no-unpaid incidents for a long time. I already have a visa card with BOA but don;t think it is "cash rewards" one. Maybe that is the reason?
