CVS should stop advertising the same $3/1 pod coupons (and others) if they aren't going to reset it. It's annoying.

Can someone kindly explain what 'q' and 'EB' mean in the following line from the post:
"Buy 3 Tide pods = $14.82 - $9q - $5 EB"

I am going into the wiki to add some coupon matchups.

Q stands for coupon. Those specific coupons were in the August P&G inserts that came in the paper at the beginning of the month. There are also printable coupons on pgeveryday's website.

EB /ECB = Extra Bucks (or ExtraCare Bucks) .. those are coupons that print out at the end of your receipt once when you've purchased the qualifying items of a deal. You can use EBs on basically anything in the store besides things like cigarettes, alcohol, gift cards (and maybe dairy?)... A good place to find out more newbie information is the CVS Discussion thread -- look at the wikis for information on the store and their system... thread is located here

Thank you for the definitions and the link.

Unfortunately the P&G website doesn't seem to work for me, I only see a $3 coupon, and when I try to print it, I get the following message: "Sorry, this coupon is not available in your area" -- I tried 4 different NYC zip codes.

The $5 EB also does not seem to pan out, since the CVS flyer requires the total purchase to be $15, but this would only be $14.82.

Actually - it would print at $14.82. CVS does something called the 98% rule.. meaning as long as you spend 98% towards the threshold.. it will print.

Here is a graph of how it breaks down (NMP):

EA: more of a question than any real news

report:
Kelloggs cereal 1.99 ea
- $2/4 eQ and MQ (from 7/29 insert) DD'd, making them .99ea. I got raisin bran & krispies
those were the only non-high sugar ones I saw tagged for sale

CG
I got 2 lip - cheapest was 6.49 (here) - $4/2IP(nla & exp soon), $3"any" CG dQ came off.
already used $3 "eye" dQ
Also had mailer with $4/$12 CG, paid $2 with filler, got 8ecb

Question:
eQ didn't come off after manually entered MQ (another item)
does that preclude ANY eQs coming off?

long version:
12.79 NM (bogo, previous ad) - $3nm CRT - 2/8 vitamins -2 x $2mQ (didn't scan)
12.00 HE bio - 3/12hairCRT -$4/2mq (exp 8/11) & expected 4/2dQ
$3.00 Dawn x 3 (or were they .99ea?)
.99 reese - .74crt
25.78 - 17.74 Qs and 8ecb

but NM MQs didn't scan. She manually entered and then when my HE Q beeped, she manually entered it too (needed override) as $4 - didn't attach it to an item.

So I presumed my $4/2 eQ would also come off.

and the register crashed (or at least quit - was able to re-ring on another one)
so I had a chance to re-order my Qs
Should I have put the NM at the bottom of pile, and asked clerk to total b4 manual entry, CRTs and ECBs?

There was an irritated lady buying Poise pads behind me, not happy about moving registers &the other lines moving faster
Clerk had to manually enter 3 MQs and type in most of my ECBs so I wasn't going to make her go thru the void and just paid OOP cash (and the last of my last GC Sadwalk )
which was more than I earned in ECB Annoyed

Thanks! I didn't know they had the same rules like Kohl's (a $48 purchase will give you a $10 Kohl's cash reward). But how do you use the $3 coupon three times in one purchase, it specifically says one coupon per purchase?

Hmmmm.. Staxin or MoodyMama would probably be the ones to answer this. But to me - it seems like if the NM wasn't "attaching" or scanning through on its own and had to be manually entered, then it doesn't seem like the order would matter.. But maybe the register did "think" you took up two "slots" for the HE and that's why the DQ didn't come off?

Why did that HE beep though?.. is it because it was on the verge of expiring (probably already expired for people on the east coast) or is it just coded wonky?

I believe the Tide coupon is one coupon per purchase, 2 coupons per day of an identical coupon. In that case - if you are PURCHASING two Tides, then you can use two coupons. "One per purchase" does NOT mean "one per transaction". It means you can not stack multiple manufacturer coupons on one item.

To get around the 2 per day.. You can split up the transaction OR you can use 2 insert coupons + 1 digital coupon. Or two insert coupons and 1 printable coupon, etc.

These questions are best discussed in the CVS discussion thread. If you have any more questions - I would be happy to answer them... just ask in the other thread... HTH.

I am sorry if I didnt respond to your beginner question before, I thought I had but life's been hectic. Your questions are very basic, which is not a knock at all we all started there. Seriously, please, please do not take that as an insult, it really isnt. And I promise I am not trying to run you off (going overboard here because sometimes tone can be so hard to detect on line). This really isnt the site to learn CVS basics from, particularly if you are new to this kind of couponing/ store rewards in general. We dont have a good starter/ FAQ thread here. Take some time to google and find other sites that do have FAQ/ starter threads and read those thoroughly. I cant link here because SD will strip out the link but Id recommend getting (hint) a full cup (hint) of coffee for their starter FAQ. Once youve got a grasp on the basics and the language, this is a wonderful place to find some deals.

If you are purchasing 3 you can use 3, unless the coupon has further restrictions. Almost all coupons say one per purchase.

That other site (the coffee one) is so out of date with most everything, and CVS changes with the wind lately.

I agree with Holly about using the Discussion thread here at SD (slickdeals) for your basic questions, or any questions. Most everyone doesn't mind helping, as I know you don't mind either, md.
You'll just have to ignore the ones that do, you'll run into those at every site.

My advice: Read every post in this thread, and each weekly thread as it comes. 9 times out of 10, a question has already been answered.

Welcome aboard, kk5ny

Dontknow I figured at the time it was b/c manually entered mQs did something, like when they total before paper Q is scanned & subsequently paper Q beeps. I presumed the dQ had already come off.
It wasn't after 9pm west coast so there was no reason for it to come up expired. Clerk thought about that but said it came up "no item purchased for this coupon"
I bought micelllar HE bio, hadn't purchased it in previous tranx. on other cards

thought of since my last post:
Pantene weightless conditioner is included in 5ecb wys $15,
priced 2/$12 or 6.49/1
I had $3/1 CRT and there were $2/1 peelies on them
there were 4 types, 2 were 50% clearance -which I didn't get since I thought they wouldn't work for ECB but could be hair care CRT filler

I got one with HE Bio since I already used my Tide eQ
