Purchased 4 of these a couple months ago during the last sale. Could not be happier. The Kuna app is fantastic, the functionality and quality is great, and the install was easy.

Can anyone provide the size of these? Not listed in the specs on Costco or Home Depot's site.

You get basic services for free. If you want unlimited downloads and a longer history of saved videos, there is a monthly fee. But, each light comes with 6 months free premium service...so I'm good for 2 years.

Is the camera fixed or can it be moved? I like the camera, just wish they held onto video for a few days for the basic plan. How's the night vision?

Still patiently waiting for someone to make one of these lights that has a normal ONVIF camera in it. I don't want something cloud connected that requires a dedicated app (that will likely cease to function when the manufacturer goes out of business or changes their pricing structure).

I actually find it sort of amazing that Hikvision et al haven't entered this market. They already have a doorbell cam that holds up pretty well against Ring and Nest, with the advantage that you can add it to your NVR/Blue Iris and have 24/7 recording for no monthly fee.

I think it's just a matter of time, but getting tired of waiting.

the camera is always "on", whether the light is on or not. It only saves a recording if it senses motion, or if you manually tell it to record.
You can change the settings for when the light turns on. I have mine set to turn on 30 minutes prior to dusk, and turn off 30 minutes after dawn. And to turn on any time of day if motion is sensed (and you can adjust the sensitivity per camera).
One other thing to note: most of your outdoor lights are probably controlled by a switch. You need to keep that switch 'on' all the time now. The app will send you a notification if you cut power to a light.

it can be moved manually (not remotely).
Because the light is on at night, the picture quality at night is good.

Hi Luv2chill

I also was hoping we'd have seen something by now like that.. suspect we may not as companies like to lock users into subscriptions.

So you may need to hack your own solution.

Well you may be right, but at the same time hikvision did enter the "smart doorbell" market, and that is dominated by subscription cloud services. So I'm still a bit hopeful they or someone else will do a security light cam.

Nice to know something can be hacked together in the meantime. Thanks for sharing the link.

Hi Luv2Chill -

Hikvision and Dahua have been in the "video doorbell" market for a long time - just few noticed as they were marketed as "video intercomm" devices.

The success of Ring ( doorbot ) has changed the consumer expectations and expectations of integrations with mobile apps for such devices.
