Bogota is fascinating city. I had friends that went. None are native Spanish speakers. Had a fascinating time

This deal should be paired with deals for will-making software or services. Also life insurance. Gonna need it. Also should retain security firm specializing in hostage negotiations.
Oh geez lolol I guess ppl who go on this should watch Turistas lol

Bogota has an unfair reputation from the 90's. Pablo Escobar is dead and Bogata is on the upswing. A friend told me it was "their favorite city on earth" (and she is an avid traveler). So we decided to go on a whim. It is a *massive*, modern, vibrant city. It's very inexpensive - and I don't believe it is any more or less dangerous than New York or LA. The only caveat for Americans would be the fact very few people speak English. My girlfriend is fluent - so it was a wonderful vacation for us. Everyone should give it a try. It's a fascinating place to visit (and you can ball out of control with the exchange rate).

I should also add - I'm a 6'1" White guy with a huge red beard. I stuck out like a sore thumb - but that was a really valuable perspective to experience.

Not anymore. I went last year and it was just as dangerous if any major US city. You just need to use common sense. I never felt unsafe there.

No I just went. Very friendly people. May be difficult if you don't have a Spanish speaker in your group but if you have rudimentary Spanish comprehension (think general border state understanding) it is a good CHEAP place to play.

Make sure you order native poker beer - that's 50 cents a bottle compared to 3 bucks for the imported stuff.

People joke here, but I work for a fortune 50.company, and the only way they allow anyone to go there on a business trip is with a 24x7 escort. I am sure it is a beautiful place, but I think the problem is that tourists tend to wander off and explore, and it is not safe to do that when you are unfamiliar.
