Was searching for a circular saw and happened to find the brushless cordless Ridgid circular saw Gen5X on sale. Normal price is 140.

The non brushless model goes for 120

If you recently bought a kit (drill/driver with the 1.5 or 4.0 batteries and charger like I did) then this deal might help you complete your arsenal without switching to other brands. And what I mean is you don't have to purchase any other battery since the 1.5 or 4.0 from the kit is under life time warranty. Plus, it's a brushless Gen5X.

To make the deal even sweeter you can sign up for $5 off $50 coupon by signing up for txt msg from hd website

Again this is a bare tool only.No battery or charger

Good find, if I didn't have my trusty Porter Cable corded model I'd hop on this.

Don't bother to try this saw with less than a 4.0 battery the draw to start this saw up and keep it spinning.

I have this saw and it is as good as a corded for 2x4s and 7x16ths

There are so many power tools on sale lately. I got the Ryobi brushless circular saw for $89 with 4A battery and charger last week. Normal price over $200 for the bundle.

I was gonna jump on that deal but I was also a little hesitant. Since I've mostly invested into the Ridgid line, I didn't want to be stuck with just one battery to operate the saw. I have more than 8 ridgid batteries (half being covered under the life time warranty) so I figured this deal would be a no brainer.

This is not a bad deal.. I have the Ryobi one

CliffsNotes version

Bad
Low RPM (3K)
Get a good blade as the one comes along with it is not good
Need atleast a 4ah battery

Good
Softstart
Brushless
Electric brake
Ryobi with the HP batteries cuts like a hot knife through butter. I assume same here with HyperOctane

The reason I went with Ryobi was because of blade left. Hope this helps

I have this saw and it's very well made. The adjustment levers are very easy to adjust and the markings are crystal clear. Like the soft start and electric brake. The thin kerf included blade is carbide tipped and works great. I'm amazed at the quality even though it's made in China. The lifetime warranty says allot and was my deciding factor. My previous Milwaukee cordless saw weighs twice as much with it's nicad battery, and is dying after 18 years.

I do agree that a 4ah+ battery should be the minimum to really benefit and get the most out of the tool. BUT it doesn't make the tool useless if you have a lower capacity battery. It just means you'll have to charge often or can't cut through thicker or harder materials. And I'm sure this advice is universal for every 18v powered circular saw, not just Ryobi and Ridgid

@Tobydeez86

Agree with everything you said except the blade part. It does come with a blade.

Great saw, great price. This will replace your old corded saws.

Don't forget the 11% rebate this week for in-store purchases in markets with competing Menards stores.

Looks like a good deal if you have a battery/charger. I'd have to buy those too for $150, so $250 total. I think I'll wait for one that comes with battery.
