Why would anyone want to deal with massgenie at this price when other SDers have been getting $100 off Nest at Bestbuy.com bringing the price to $69+tax (which include google home mini) using coupon codes people have been trading for $5. Look at other Nest posts on SD for details. Or PM me if interested. I have some for trade for $5.

I did a massgenie deal for the Nest doorbell and it's a legit site, but I'd just assume pay a bit more and not deal with the BS of wondering if there will be enough people to join so the deal goes through or the 500 emails you'll get that a new person has joined the power deal. Massgenie is just a middle man from what I gathered that third party companies pay to sell their stuff. It's a very strange business model IMO as the number of people determine the price, so unless it's a ton less than you can buy the same product at from a legit site I would pass. This thermostat is a decent deal though (assuming you get it for that price).

The Nest 3rd gen is the "fancier" version of these two. The E is plastic and white while the 3rd gen is stainless steel.

"Frankly, Nest Thermostat and Nest E are pretty much the same. The only difference is the design, Farsight, price and HVAC compatibility. Functionally, these two are on the same level."

3rd gen has more compatibility and works with "multi-stage" HVAC systems. Personally, I think the E is more worth the price to get into the smart thermostat craze.

Actually the Nest E has more compatibility than the 3rd Gen
Why do you say that? The E takes fewer wiring configurations.

No way. It clearly does not even according to Nest.com
