Quite possibly the best game in the last 5 years.
Minecraft with spaceships.
what's not to love.
Although I've only played it on PC [since 0.23 beta]

Ah, okay thanks. I wonder if that spyware debacle had anything to do with it

The rush of endorphins and the feeling of accomplishment I got from finally landing on the moon (mun) or the closest planet in this game easily beats the satisfaction gained from any video game boss fight victory. KSP is very special and a must-have for anyone interested in spaceflight and math.

For anyone who DOES purchase this, you'll want to search youtube for a guy named Scott Manley (hope I spelled that right). If you're having any trouble, he'll get you outta the atmosphere and on your way to exploring.

Good for a 6 year-old who plays Minecraft? God I'm old. I know nothing of these new fangled video games nowadays!

Scott manly is a wizard. His first career mission to minmus and back with thousands of science is a blast..

I have this on PC, and it is one of my favorite games. They released some DLC recently that didn't really add anything to the game and as such there are a few recent bad reviews out there. Be the DLC what it may, the base game is awesome and very challenging.

Start on planet, fly small missions to unlock more stuff. Gradually get higher and higher and get into orbit. Get to the moons, and then realize there are 5-6 other planets even further out. Build a space station, build satellites to travel so far you can't talk to them without building relay satellites orbiting whatever you find out there. On PC, games will auto-save so you can always come back to large missions already in progress. I still have a lot of fun after 400-500 hours.

Check out Scott Manley's YouTube videos. This is not for everyone- there are methods that work and you need to learn them, give or take a little experimenting and problem solving.

EDIT: Many posts on Scott Manley's videos. I wouldn't have left Kerbal without those vids Smilie I still suck with SSTO space planes.
