Based on the review, the ink is not your problem. Seems reasonable cost per page. It is all the negative reviews regarding setup. Never seen so many.

It is time to buy a laser printer and never worry about the dry ink. You can get a nice HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw under $300 in Costco.

Thx, OP.
I have a HP 8500a that finally giving me issues after 7+yr. It was a crazy SD Staples $20 MM deal.
FYI - HP's do have some annoying quirks, but low CPP. Ink is reasonable considering the yield as long as printer is being used frequently - like any printer ink will dry up if not being used thus decreasing yield and increasing CPP.
QUIRK#1 - Print heads have to be replaced every 2-3 years (has 2 heads $50-100 per head).
QUIRK#2 - if you have 1 empty color cartridge, you likely will not be able to print black, even if that cartridge isn't empty.
There are work arounds for each quirk but you have to get a bit handy and creative.
I just ordered a HP 8710 for $140 off Amazon but I'm cancelling that in favor of this deal.

This looks like it would meet my needs, with automatic duplex printing and scanning.

We were considering a color laser printer with automatic duplex scan/print. Can someone please give us a suggestion? We dont do heavy printing, just want something that will last, and be low maintenance.

Also how much more would laser printer cost?
