As a beginner, what should I expect from the latest version? Are those features worth the double price?

I was a beginner about 3 months ago and got hooked into finally deciding to buy a 3D printer based on the bottom of the basement MP 3D printer, however, after comparing features between the mini and other models I decided to get the MP Select Plus because it had a heated bed and a lot bigger volume. The printer was $300 at the time with the deal offered. I'm sure it will come along again.

People say you don't need a heated bed with PLA and you might not, but if you do have a heated bed then you don't have to mess around with getting it to stick. So far I've never used any glue or hairspray on my heated bed for printing PLA and doubt I ever will. Prints pop off pretty well if I get them right after the print is done, but if I wait until the next day its a fight to get them off the bed.

Edit: Forgot to mention the bit about auto-bed leveling: If it works it's great. I haven't looked into this model to see how well it works. My printer doesn't have auto-level from MP, however, I bought a sensor and am going to upgrade the firmware to open-source so I can mod it a little easier as well as auto bed leveling. Truth be told it is not that hard to level a bed, but you have to be consistent and it's an extra chore you need to do before every print to make sure the printing starts properly.
