for the price these work pretty well. Keep in mind these are "dumb" smart vacs. They have no idea where they have been, or where their home base is. They will randomly bounce around until their battery runs low and then will randomly bounce around and hopefully stumble upon their home base before the battery runs out.

I am surprised to see that there are well researched non iRoomba options. I have a Roomba but unable to use it as its battery died quite quickly.

Replacement batteries are like $20 on eBay, and very much worth it. My battery died a few years ago, and I got one, and I am still getting ~2 hours of battery life on it now (vs 3 when I just had replaced the battery.)

I'm only seeing $30 off making it $199. Also I have a step down living room. Could i make a ramp of some kind of it to get to the next level?

Thanks for your advise. I will look for 1 on eBay. Could you share what brand you ordered?

The coupon on Amazon is only $30 off but if you use the coupon code listed in the OP it gives you $50 off. Both coupons do not stack, it is one or the other.

OK Thanks. So thin carpets is that basically a throw rug? I wouldn't consider my carpet thick but it's carpet you find in a home. What is good for thick carpet.

Replying here, just in case anyone else is in the same boat. Apologies for the derail though.

Absolutely! I bought this exact thing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...114105210. I actually thought I'd bought it on eBay, but apparently not. $24 + tax, free shipping with Prime. Smilie

Have this vacuum. It's awesome. House is all hardwood and it does an amazing job. Have a Golden Retriever and an Aussie. I used to vacuum at least twice a week but I haven't done so in two months because I run it twice a week and it gets the job done.

In your opinion should I save the money and use it towards a better model?
