I Got this in an email. I know that there are ways to keep getting free trials but it's annoying. Hope it's not targeted.

Have this, and getting rid of it. Really slowed my system down compared to Kaspersky, although I'm less likely to get spied on by the Russians...

With Bit Defender Total Security 2018 it warned me about a coin miner on a site I was using. Sadly Kaspersky never once showed it. Not like its super harmful but my PC doesn't need to be anyone's cryptocurrency farmer either.

Yep, I'm not going to use Kaspersky any more either. I'm trying to find my best option that doesn't bog my machine down.

Thanks OP! Had 30 days left on my 5 device 2018 subscription, so the timing was perfect for this.

$29.99 isn't a slick deal. It's their new regular price.

I tried using Bitdefender about 5 years ago and it was the worst antivirus i ever used and i've used them since pc's have been around. No matter what i did it would always slow my computers down to a crawl. I have not used it since.

Sorry for the late reply but I just saw your post. According to most security experts at various malware related forums, ESET is heavily praised for its efficient resource usage while providing excellent protection. My experiments with most of the major brands of security software have confirmed their findings with ESET's very low RAM usage. They do offer free trials of their various products before you commit to a purchase, and they have various levels with additional features if they are of value to you. ESET does have quite a number of user settings which allow you to customize the level of security as desired, but for less experienced users their default values seem to be acceptable for most installations. They also have a forum with very responsive support if you encounter any issues. Good luck and hope this helps!

+1 for ESET. Been using it for years and is very lightweight.

It worked perfectly the second time I click the link. The first time it showed 49.99 then I closed it, clicked the link in the body of the message and it showed @ $29.99.

Thanks!
