not that in all the blurbs I couldn't find where it mentioned the battery size - it's a 6AH
from the DeWalt site:

I bought this saw almost a year ago and regret it. I thought it had the option of being corded or cordless like the mitre saw, but this saw is ONLY powered by the 60v Flex Volt battery. I wish they had a power adapter so I could truly be flexible either way. As such, I am often finding the battery does not hold enough power to consistently rip material. It's fine for a few cuts here and there, but if you are trying to use it all day, forget it - go buy the corded version so you aren't wasting time and material.

Yeh, a 6AH at 60V would probably cost more than the saw!

/edit
heck the MSRP on the 12AH Flexvolt is $437 discounted to $249 https://www.toolbarn.com/dewalt-dcb612.html/

Unlike the Flexvolt 12" sliding miter saw, this does not have the option of a 120V adapter to use corded power. This means that you are limited to the battery only, which can be quite limiting.

supposedly they have a 12/4 AH battery coming out that is the same size as the 9/3 AH it is probably going to be $300

Been watching for this item for awhile and this is definitely a great deal! This is on my list of things to buy, love the Flexvolt system. Going to use my savings to buy a Grr-ipper pushblock so I don't lose a finger. Cool

Or you can get this

And its an original Dewalt, not chinesium (Someone get AvE to spellcheck that)

I have all Milwaukee tools, but this is a really good deal. One day only flash sale, tough decision.

I agree. who needs another battery requirement? Thought oringally that was a good idea by Black and Decker (aka DeWalt) but now knowing that 20volts don't up convert, I think this is crap!

Also, 8 1/4? Why can't they go with a standard 7 1/4 blade? Just another example of their nickel and dime game. Sick of it!!!

I don't believe that this works. It is only for 120V Flexvolt tools like the miter saw (i.e. tools that use two batteries).

see how it takes up 2 slots? that's for the 120V MAX tools (2 60V MAX batteries), not the single battery 60V MAX.
