This is last years model, but it has better connection options than most of the newer models with identical screen specs. (except HDR, that doesn't really work with these 6-bit screens)

Ordered this one earlier today, so my understanding is that as a Nvidia user I won't be able to take advantage of the free sync feature right, or are there any workarounds on that?

No work around, Gsync is for Nvidia cards and Freesync is for Amd cards

That's right, but you should be able to use 75Hz refresh with DisplayPort, at least. Maybe someday Nvidia will allow their customers to take advantage of what is essentially a free feature, but not now. (I'm hearing rumors about next gen cards and HDMI 2.1 but, I take no stock in them)

I'll try to overclock it to see how far I can go refresh rate wise. My current monitor is set at 75hz(overclocked from 60hz) so I hope I can go a little higher with this one.

How does this compare to the LG 29UM68-P [bhphotovideo.com]?

Worth buying now or better to wait until the 29um68-P gets back in stock?

Are there any risk involved in OC a monitor?

The 29UM68-P has a second HDMI instead of the USB-C. This 69G claims to more gaming oriented, has MBR and a spiffy red stripe on the stand! Both stands suck tho, a monitor arm is really helpful. I'd buy this one over the 68-P even though a second HDMI would likely be more useful that USB-C - 20 bucks is $20.

Even though this came out in 2017, it's the latest the model for this category!!! If this is not the latest model than what is?

Thanks JoelA I appreciate the answer! Since this is sold on Newegg I'd have to pay sales tax, but not on B&H so the cost ends up being the same. At that rate I'll probably just go for the dual HDMI. Thanks again!

29WK500-P and 29WK600-W are both 2018 models.

How do you overclock the refresh rate, mine only shows 75Hz in display properties.

Also contrary to what others have said about display port, it is working at 75Hz over the supplied hdmi cable.
