Wrong. Neal Barnard is a militant pro-vegan and a hack for PETA. And the studies he cites are all seriously flawed.

Keto Diet = Early Grave diet..

Insulin resistance is not caused by Sugar.

That's like saying Cars are allergic to gasoline..

The brain runs on pure-glucose, the muscles run on pure glucose.

The reason diabetes occur is because the sugar stay in the blood unable to get into the bodily cells where it needs to go.

This happens because the average person eats too much FAT..

The Fat blocks insulin receptors (in cells) from functioning. So the Sugar channel can not properly activate.

On a Ketogenic diet, there is no sugar spike, because you're not eating sugar..

So, on the one hand YES, no blood sugar problems.

However, the longer you continue keto, the more fat you are depositing into your cells.. only Further increasing the insulin resistance in the body..

Chk out this video which explains the process in full..

The industry has been lying to everyone, because diabetes prints money..

If you're also burning fat for energy (as you do in keto), how is that depositing more?

You really need to stop the falsehood.

There is no essential carbohydrate(which sugar is a form of) that you must consume to live. There ARE essential protein and fat that you MUST consume to live.

Without consuming carbohydrate, your body can create glucose(... or in your language 'sugar') by converting protein into glucose(look up gluconeogenesis). Yes, you must have some glucose in your body at all times because your brain will always require some glucose. When you're not in ketosis, your brain runs on a mixture of fuel consisting of roughly 75% glucose and 25% essentially fat. When you're in ketosis, your brain actually runs better with roughly 75% fat and 25% glucose. The same mixture reversal occurs for your muscle cells as well.

If you really don't believe me, look up Richard Bernstein and diabetes. He's been on a ketogenic diet for over 50 years(if not more). If you really want, here's an article about his take on the myths about fat: http://www.diabetes-book.com/big-fat-lie/

You should read up a bit more... here is a link to a physician that studies the interaction between blood glucose metabolism and exercise a bit.

You can listen to a prime supporter of PETA, who is a psychiatrist and pushes a vegan diet. (Which if his argument was eat the right carbs meaning ones with a low glycemic index effect then he would not be too bad)

ORRRR you can listen to someone that is board certified in obesity medicine and internal medicine who also has degrees in Kinesiology & Exercise Science. She seems to have no problem with a LCHF diet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da1vvigy5tQ

Keto, Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, Macrobiotic, Master Cleanse, HCG, Dukan, Gluten Free, ect are all the same... useless fads for lazy people hoping to avoid hard work.

Eat healthy and work out. That is the one and only diet plan that works.
To lose weight you must eat at a caloric deficit, you don't even need to work out. But, some diets do make it easier for some people.
