Just an FYI for those looking: This is for the headset only, no controllers (it's almost always sold with the controllers).

Nothing wrong with it at all. As long as you have a 63mm IPD, this is the headset I would get. Otherwise get a Samsung. Microsoft is just democratizing VR and taking it away from the elites.

Originally, the MR headsets were sold as developer editions with only the headset and not controllers. This seems to be left over stock from that. Considering that the Lenovo sold for $150 new with controllers, this is a so so deal. If you don't need controllers than this is the way to go. Not everyone does need controllers. If you just want a headset for sims, driving or flying, this is what you want.

I don't believe this includes the controllers.

Is this dead tech or something horribly wrong with Lenovo's MR headset compared to the others? I recall they are all based on some reference design and pretty much similar in terms of hardware spec? Tempting, and I have a PSVR already.

Thanks, yeah on PSVR i never even used motion controllers. I also have a Pixel phone with Google Daydream which I prefer for simplicity over PSVR with a zillion sprawling wires and uncomfortable after a while. I like the higher res and ligher simpler setup on this. It's tempting......but how much are the controllers if I should consider getting those later?

I've seen them go for $79. I think the regular price is $100. So even if you buy the headset and controllers separately, it's cheaper than buying the kit from B&H which is ridiculously overpriced in today's market.

I was about to post this. But yes, I bought one about an hour ago. The headset and controller set was $180 at B&H last night but I couldn't pull the trigger with it having been $150 a few weeks ago. For $100, I'm willing to give it a chance to try it out strictly for sim racing. Reviews seem to indicate:
- better resolution than Vive or Rift
- head tracking isn't as good if you don't use it in a well lit room

Anyone know if Rift or 2017 gear vr motion controllers are compatible?

Personally not a fan of the Lenovo headset. I bought one around the holidays last year for ~160 and the first unit was defective. I returned it to the Microsoft store and I made sure we tried the second unit in store to make sure it worked and that one was defective too! So they swapped it out for the Acer one and that worked. Overall I recommend them WMR headsets, just not the Lenovo one based on two bad experiences.
