Not bad but only 150yards of 30lb through 80lb test. This might be good for a 200-300sized baitcaster. I'm not sure what reel I'd put 150yards of 80lb on but any 80lb braid I'd consider would be on a larger reel, and those are probably going to be able to hold at least twice as much braid if not 3x as much or more. I used to spool my casting reels with 50% starting out but I don't see any reason to do that. Yes, you could splice the braid to other braid but I'd prefer to avoid multiple line-to-line connections.

Anyway, heckuva deal if you're looking for or need this braid

BTW: the second link doesn't seem to be working for the flash sale.

these days, people fish smaller reels with big drags and high weight braid. 150 yards is still a bit short unless you top shot the reels with 50 yards of mono then a leader.

(I'm talking saltwater tuna / yellowtail fishing)

I updated the second link, for some reason it wasn't working. Hope it's good now. Also the sale on Dick's has the 20lb. Overall great sale at the 150yrs spool level. I usually put some mono on first and 150 is just perfect.
The sale on Dicks can be found via their main site.

I run 65# braid on my frogging rod. Im only going after bass and the drag is no where near this, but the heavy braid helps cut through the thick stuff and horse the fish out. All my other bass stuff gets around 20# braid.

Fyi, this braid has been this price in-store at Dicks for at least a few weeks now. Actually just picked up another spool of 50# for a baitrunner reel. Ill back with mono and fill the spool with the braid. No need to fill with 300 yards of braid.

I think this site is owned by Dicks because the flash sale items are the same ones as in Dicks flash sale only on Dicks site prices are less so NO this is NOT a slickdeal.

I have a couple Avet SXes (which are close to the size of an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3) that I put 50lb test on. Apparently these reels can hold up to 420yds of 50lb braid lol. Mine aren't filled all the way to the brim but I think I wound on around 300yds on both. 150 yards of 50lb would fill one of these up half-way. I don't think I would put anything higher than 50lb on this reel. Maaaaybe 65lb at most.

If you do have an application of fishing braid on top though, this seems like it would be good if you wanted to put mono backing under. Not something I'd want to be doing for tuna/yellowtail fishing though

This is great line...Picked up 8! I use Japanese line especially Sunline and Megabass, so this is a bargain.

oh yeah i took my avet sx out for some yellowtail fishing. It went great, had about 200 yards of braid, 20-50 yard of mono and it held up great

Love my sx reels! It's awkward fishing with anything bigger after running with those all the time lol
