It's pretty much the same idea.... I just like Google a lot better because I feel it has a better knowledge base. If you think about it, Google's whole being is that they are a search engine company. Amazon is shopping and retail. I'd rather get a smart assistant that has Google's smarts than Amazon's. Not that Amazon's is bad, I just feel it's inferior to Google in the market of search knowledge, assistant, answers.

Much better? well there was the get one free with $xxx purchase on ebay. But to just buy them, $25 plus tax is as good as it gets. To me, it's the new norm. Where do we go from here? Black friday will tell. I might "need" one more, not three.

Echo is a more open ecosystem and you can code your own stuff and explore the aws while with Google you are pretty limited to the current functionalities

the best deal was black friday when best buy had them for $30 with $10 best buy gift card. so you would buy 3 consecutively. $30 + $20 + $20 = $70 and you would still have a $10 gift card left over.

At $75 this is the best ive seen since

The same $10 GC deal was available at Target and many places in Nov/Dec. I got it with Red card for 5% off and roll over a $10gc.

I got two from eBay. One for spending $150. I needed brakes and tune up parts which broke the $150 threshold making the Google Home Mini free. The second was also eBay. Bought $119 more car parts I needed so I got a second free Google Home Mini. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them. I may give them to my elderly Mom with a few smart receptacles or lightbulbs to make her a little safer in her home. If that works I'd definitely get 3 more if she finds the first two beneficial.
If anyone has good ideas for how these can be beneficial to the elderly I'm all ears and think others here would find your idea worth reading.
$25 is pretty close to rock bottom for these. Black Friday they will be giving them away so Google can know your life story. As always you are giving up some privacy for your convenience and safety.
