Awesome this will looks like a perfect band-aid to my no couch problem, and it'll make a great addition to the office when I finally pick one up. It seems to occupy a space between really cheap futons and the expensive ones. Do you think it'll hold up awhile? The picture makes the mattress look real thick and it's listed at 8". Is the your mattress thick enough?

I think if you're just using it here and there it will hold up a moderately long time. Listed as 8 mine measures 7 but is surprisingly comfy regardless and well worth the price in my eyes.

Flipping the mattress regularly, cycling all four positions, should even the wear. All these futon mattress's have a limit, you'll find replacements all over the place.

Edit: I'm not sure, if this one is identical on both sides.????

The tack welds on the bars fail too easily on this type of futon. I've had a 3 from Walmart and they all ended up breaking within a year or two. The mattress looks nice though.

Feel like the biggest issue is the mattress. Tbh, if you want a really good futon, I would buy a frame and mattress separately. For $100 more than this, I got a high quality wooden funton frame that looked $1,000 easy and went with a pocketed coil mattress. I didn't need to flip it for a good year and a half. Frame is really strong. Literally slammed down on it like it was a bed, no issues. And cheaper if you want metal instead.

Just a heads up, it's a little hard to convert this from a bed back to a couch by yourself, but it's doable. The mattress was also a little harder than I expected, but I guess that could actually be a good thing so that you don't sink down and feel the bars.

*I also just wanted to mention that the mattress is quite heavy as well, so if you plan to flip it, you might need two people. I can do it by myself, but just a heads up that it might be heavier than you'd think.
