Any way to get around the new line activation?

After 2 years of incorrect bills literally every month with AT&T after the last Samsung Note BOGO I got, I'd be hesitant to ever take that deal again.

Good deal, but watch out for billing issues with the credits appearing. Too bad this is successor to the $200 flagship phone but required 2 year contract. Who knew how much worse the contract deals could get.

No need to rush, they will offer BOGO without 2 yr commitment very soon

How do the bill credits work? Can anyone provide an example?

If phone costs $999, then you'll pay $999/24=$41.63 per month, and they will credit your bill that amount every month for the next 24 months. If you cancel the line, then they stop paying, but you'll still pay the rest of the phone cost. So it's basically a 2 year contract and if you cancel, you pay the ETF, which is the rest of the phone cost. Of course there might be down payment requirements and taxes and fees.

Do you end up paying more this way because of the extra fees and taxes that they don't credit back?

No. It's effectively the same as paying upfront except the monthly credit method is just a new way to lock you in for 2 years.

Interesting. When they charge me extra for anything else my taxes and fees always increase. I wish it was just a 2yr lock without a contract renewal or new line

I thought all the BOGO are with 2 yr contract or by monthly bill.
How come BOGO offer without any commitment or by monthly bill?

There is an indirect commitment. The get one free isn't done initially. It's bull credits spread over 30 months. If you cancel you won't get credits anymore. Plus it involves adding new line so you can expect the extra charges from it

Verizon says second phone can also be S9 or S9+. Wonder if you can get the $150 Costco gift card if allowed to choose the S9 as the other phone?
Verizon details
Special Offer
Buy one, get one Note9 128GB, S9 or S9+ free. Plus, select your gift.
See the details

Are you saying they are offering a gift card for the note 9? I don't see that anywhere? I think your confusing it with the fortnite/headphone gift.

Hate to deal with Costco mobile. They were bad. I went to buy Note 8 two weeks ago. They ignored me.
