For some reason, the controller bundle won't add to my cart, the headset only version does.

That's because it went OOS from that seller. There were only 18 controller bundles when I posted.

Oh, gotcha. Do you know how well this headset does with an IPD of 70. I'm really tempted with the deals I've been seeing.

Don't do it. Your IPD is way too big for these fixed IPD headsets. You need to get something adjustable like a Samsung, Rift or Vive. Even with those, you'll be bumping up against the top end.

As tempted as I am, I just got an oculus go, and the small bump in resolution isnt enough for me to justify a switch (for me it is a dedicated porn viewer.) Once headsets close in on 2160 x 2160 per eye I'll jump.

Thank, I was worried about that. Such as shame since it seems like a good deal, ideally I'd like to get a Vive or Rift.

I would get a Samsung Odyssey. Much better than the Rift or Vive. The Odyssey is competitive with the Vive Pro at less than half the price.

Oh interesting, I've always heard the Rift and Vive had better tracking. What makes the Odyssey the one to buy in your opinion?

The Odyssey or any MR headset has easily as good tracking as the standard 2 sensor Rift setup. The Odyssey has much higher resolution than the Rift or Vive.

Here's a little writeup that sums things up nicely. If you want the gist, jump to the update at the end. He started out being pro Rift and dubious about the Samsung. Look at the original article. But like most former Rift owners, changed his mind once he started to use the Samsung. He changes his tune and goes pro Samsung in his update.

I got rid of my Rift while it's still worth something. It was just gathering dust ever since I got my MR headsets last winter.

Neat, I'll have to look more into the Odyssey. Was there a link you meant to include in your message?

So I just saw on Camel(x3) that the HTV Vive dropped down to something like $95 bucks in February. Anyone know the circumstances of that deal? If it's ever going to go down that far again I'm happy to wait, but if not these headsets seem to be a good value.
