I believe it was this price a month or so ago. It has been $699 for at least the last month.

ok got all that.

i would be buying it to use on my current Cricket plan so i don't need it unlocked.

I would transfer over a number and then use my sim card i have in my phone right now and then cancel new account.

don't see why it wouldn't work

Yes you can. You have to pay a months worth of service plus taxes so your all in price will be closer to 600 bucks. Not worth it for me when I just got a brand new S8 for 300

This is too much phone for a throttled service like Cricket. Takes 6 months to unlock, that's just torturing yourself. TD.

No need to wait for 6 months to have it unlocked. I have used imei-unlocker.com to unlock several phones over the years. If they can't unlock it they refund your money. They could not unlock my V20 w/ T-Mobile when it came out and they refunded my $30.00.

Long story short. Bought mint condition used fully unlocked S8 on eBay, so there is that possibility for you. But then a week later Samsung had sale on their website and you could get the US Cellular version which is completely unlocked and it was 368 with their EPP program which lots of people can access. And it came with AKG Bluetooth headphones which I sold for 50 bucks. Turned out I bought two of the brand new S8s and flipped them on eBay for 499 each because the original mint used one I bought was basically perfect anyway so I could get more money selling the new sealed phones as new and sealed.

Anyway watch for sales but also look for some options on eBay.

By the way I don't think the Cricket deal is "bad" but I would rather carry an S8 that I bought for 300 vs a 600 dollar S9

If you're willing to pay full price and then wait for a rebate gift card--Xfinity Mobile S8 is $300. It's a current deal that you can find on SD.
